Employee Development is Like a Rubber Band…

A growing company is like a rubber band.  It must be flexible and stretch as it grows from something smaller into something larger – growing from good to great.

If the team is not willing or able to grow as quickly as the company is willing or able to grow, then one of two things may happen:

  • The company will snap  — or —
  • The employee will snap

Imagine a rubber band being held back by a literal stick in the mud.  Either the rubberband will snap or the stick will.  To avoid this predicament, it is a best practice to educate and train all team members.  This education and training will prevent the “stick in the mud” scenario and help the company stretch to its full potential.

In other words, it should be normal for a company to educate its employees.   Doing so will help the company reach its full potential.
