Tip #7.  Break the Rules – Document Structure

We often miss an opportunity to engage our readers by the way we structure our documents. Freeing ourselves from the traditional document structure rules helps us keep our audience interested in reading more of what we have to say. See the differences below.

Traditional Document Structure

Introduction: Give preview of what you are going to say

Body: Say Something

Conclusion: Repeat what said

Resicom Document Structure

Introduction: Give the why (reason to read), how (info applies to reader), and what (call to action – read)

Body: Relevant info worth reading

Conclusion: Tips on how to apply information just digested

Applying this structure can help create an easy-to-read, easy-to-use piece of literature for your audience. We hope this will help you build relationships like it has us!
